Page Authority: What is it?

Moz created a number called Page Authority (PA) that forecasts how well a certain page would do on search engine result pages (SERP). Values for Page Authority vary from one to 100, with higher scores indicating a larger capacity for ranking.

Page Authority is based on information from our web index and considers a wide range of variables. Similar to Domain Authority, it employs a machine learning model to determine the formula that most closely matches ranks across the hundreds of SERPs that we compare our predictions against, and then it uses that particular calculation to give Page Authority ratings.

How are page authorities calculated?

Page Authority is rated on a logarithmic scale of 100 points. As a result, increasing your score from 20 to 30 is far simpler than increasing it from 70 to 80. The method used to determine Page Authority is updated often, so your score may occasionally change.

What is considered as A "good" Page Authority?

Page Authority is best utilised as a comparative statistic (rather than an absolute, tangible number) while conducting research in the search results and identifying which pages may have more potent or significant link profiles than others (see "Technical definition of Page Authority" below). There isn't always a "good" or "poor" Page Authority score because it's a comparing tool.
