What is keyword stuffing?
The process of “keyword stuffing” is exactly what it sounds like: you cram as many of the primary keywords and keyword phrases you want your page to rank for into the headers, meta tags, body content, footers, and any other available space on your website.
Sometimes, keyword stuffing will even entail concealing text so that only search engines can see it. For example, the text may be made to match the background colour of the page or hidden behind an image.
The concept behind keyword stuffing is that the more frequently a search engine finds a term or phrase on your website, the more likely it is that it will rank you for queries including that word or phrase.
